Meriden Branch Report September 2016
I have been drafted in to do this Month's Report as our Scribe, Alistair is poorly at the moment. We wish him a speedy recovery.
September has been soooo busy with ride outs every weekend and the weather lovely more or less throughout the whole Month.
On the 4th we had a ride to Shelsley Walsh to watch the 'Ride the Hill' event we met up with our local Triumph Dealership, Blade Stratford who sponsored it. Julie Led this ride out and Keith managed to 'scrump' some apples as the bike parking area was an orchard! It's a shame John Young wasn't there to see the jet powered shopping trolley making its run up the hill.
On the 11th we had double booked ourselves, so Keith took a ride out to Cleobury Mortimer Classic Show and Julie took a ride out to Toddington Classic Vehicle Show.
September 18th was a very well attended ride out to the Hare & Hounds Pub at Wardington for their British and Classic Bike Day, an annual charity event. It was a great day out with Simon, the Landlord leading 18 bikes along some very interesting lanes on our way there.
We attended the Concorde Rally and well done and thanks to Bristol Branch for all their hard work, and warm welcome. A great weekend as always, but we lost out on the Highest Branch Turnout Award to Birmingham & Wolves, again...... Well done guys. The DJ on the Friday was particularly good this year- it was a brilliant night!
Coming up.......on 30th October at 1pm is our Branch Auto Jumble. Sellers from 12 noon. (small donation to charity please)
And also our Christmas Meal date is Friday 9th December - please contact Julie for more details.
Ride safe Julie
