Meriden Branch Report October 2016

Hi everyone, Here is a write up from Keith:

On October 9th we were invited by the Midland section of the VMCC on the Jim Fellows Memorial Run. About 15 of our Members rode to Bidford-on-Avon Glider Club. After B roads and country lanes, refreshments and a good old chin wag were had on a glorious sunny autumn day.

On October 16th the Klondyke Steam Rally ride out was a washout. 2 bikes made the run, Steve M, Dave Mc and Jenny - hardy souls.

The Charity run back in September to the Hare and Hounds Pub, which was organised by Simon, James and friends raised just over £700.00 for the Katherine House Hospice.

Our Clive won the 'Bike of the Day' award with his 650cc Triumph Classic - well done!

Thanks to Keith for the above reports.

For our last Auto Jumble of the year the weather was again in our favour. We had the  best turnout yet; £12 from the sellers' pitches was donated to the charities supported by Meriden Social Club for the use of their car park. We saw Members not always able to make the Monday night meetings, perusing the wares on offer.

Len and julie took more money for the Air Ambulance - final total for the year as soon as the figures are compiled - many thanks to all our members for supporting us.

We extend a warm welcome to our recent new Members;

Kevin Angliss, Colin Copeman, Kev Miller, John (Spud) Murphy, Peter Scally, Stephen Shadbolt, Pete Smith, George Watt and Brian Wilkins.

Please come and join us on a Monday night, there may be less bike riding in the winter but club nights are still well attended.

Keep safe

Julie
