Meriden Branch Report September 2018

The month started with us hardy campers joining in the fun at the Meteor-Fest in Gloucestershire. Another must for next year. Steve got a puncture in his new rear tyre from a piece of wood!

We were made welcome at Bill's funeral where 15 of us attended his interment, followed by the wake at Brandon, RIP Bill.

The 9th saw about ten members ride to the Cleobury Mortimer Bike Show. It's a cracking event  with proceeds going to the school where it is held. The return ride called at the Severn Valley Railway for tea and cake.

Bonneville 60 celebration saw a dozen from the branch with their bikes, mostly Bonnies. We must have put on an impressive display as we won Best Branch Stand. Our cut-away Bonnie engine attracted many visitors to have a chat. We met a couple of our new members, John Fishburn and Glen Williams. We then signed up Glen's brother Darren, welcome to the branch. The dodgy carburation on Mary's Bonnie was eventually diagnosed by Clive our resident Mr fix-it. All in all a good weekend.

Apologies to anyone who made their way to The Hare and Hounds at Wardington to find that it had changed hands and the new people were unaware of the traditional event. Fake news I'm afraid.

A good dozen of us descended on the Concorde Rally at Chippenham on the most miserable weekend of the month. Even the Saturday ride out was cancelled but we still enjoyed ourselves.
