Meriden Branch Report July 2014

What a great month for Biking. The sun came out and so did so many of our members with 35-40 bikes each Monday night at the heart of England social club Meriden. Why not join us.All are made welcome.

Many of the members attended the Triumph Live event in Gaydon where Bob Wisdom showed his “white helmets” TRW much to the interest of the Triumph crowd and other members displayed their classic bikes.

A few of us, Dennis,Steve,Bill and myself took the club stand and our bikes up to the alternative meeting at Mallory for the weekend. This was not so well attended as the festival of a thousand bikes. But we have heard the  VMCC will be putting it on again from next year. Thanks to Denis for taking the stand.

We took the club stand to the VMCC Founders Day rally at standard hall and there was such a good turn out that we couldn’t get all the bikes on the stand! Great weather and a good day was had by all. Thanks to Steve for taking the stand and supplying the tea!

Alan and Annette as well as Ian and Shirley attended the South Essex rally and as well as having a great time Alan won the best Meriden prize for his Bonnie pictured below.

Finally we had this weekend our own “Bring it Home Rally” and although a great success not many from outside the branch travelled a great distance due to the impending bad weather on the Friday Evening and Saturday.

However, we did have many of the well travelled Triumph rally goers, one who travelled 227 miles! We would like to thank them for attending and making the weekend a most enjoyable one for all present. Great Bands and a great Disco too it was really worthwhile for all who attended.

The run out on Saturday was led by Keith with Steve as the “tail gunner”, 10 hardy bikers ( May be fool hardy in the conditions!) went out to for a ride through the Cotswolds to Toddington.

John Young made an attendance with his rocket powered bike. What fun but what a racket!! Thoroughly enjoyed by all present.

Thanks for many from the club for helping out to make this a success particularly, Steve, keith,Bob,Denis,John, Len and Julie and Ian and Shirley but to name a few and apologies for all those who I have forgot to mention.

Ride Safe,  Derek
