Meriden Branch Report June 2015

On Thursday 11th June , 21 members went to the Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum.

Upon  arrival  we were meet by a member of the restoration staff, who took us all in to the workshop to look at the bikes in there. While  in the workshop we were greeted by Sammy Miller who told us all about the bikes being restored, he then showed us round his museum pointing out different special exhibits.  Then we were given a display outside, with Sammy riding 2 of his racing machines , a BMW and a Brough Superior, to see and hear them running was fantastic. It brought everyone in the museum outside to see what was going on.

Sammy made the day special for us all .

The staff at the tea rooms made us welcome by reserving a table for us to use throughout the day, which was well used .

Finally many thanks  to Julie Taylor for organising it all, we all had a great day thank you.

Martin.

We had our Megaride on June 28th, despite the weather throwing us a curved ball with some rain in the morning it turned out to be a very enjoyable day with a great performance from 'The Firm'  and a lot of money raised for charity, thanks to all who made the effort and attended.  Richard won Best Modern Bike with his Super 3 - well done.

Keith led out 9 bikes on Monday afternoon 29th June to Cassington Bike Night, the weather was superb and the welcome from the locals was great, 1000's of bikes were  there and when we departed around 7pm there was a steady stream of bikes rolling in from miles around. Gary is now happily riding his Tiger 800 (this one doesn't break down)

We have won the Branch award for the Landmark Challenge 2014 - Congratulations to all who took part last year.

Don't forget our Rally Folks 24th - 26th July !!!

Ride Safe

Julie
