Meriden Branch Report February 2024
Most would say that our most important event of the branch’s year is its Annual General Meeting. So its a shame that more members don’t attend. Never the less over 30 members gathered in the function room at our Heart of England Social club HQ. on the last Monday in February. The chairman, Den opened the meeting and after welcoming the attendees, gave his report on the past year. He then asked for the committee members to, one by one, present their reports. No major shocks here. The full minutes can be read on our website so I shall just say that discussions were held on topics such as the need for runs and events coordinators. Also discussed was the need for more intentions to display bikes at the NEC show in November. It was also impressed on the members the need to attract more active members to the branch to eventually take over from the ageing committee.
The upcoming events are a bit thin at the moment but should pick up after Easter. This Journal may be delivered before our Mike Hailwood Memorial Run to his grave in the small village of Tanworth in Arden.
In April, on Sunday 7th: TOMCC AGM. At The Gate Hangs Well at Syston, Leicestershire.
Saturday 27th: Triumph Day at The National Motor Cycle Museum. 50% discount entry plus a free talk by Norman Hyde.
We welcome 2 new members this month: Jason Brindley and David Machin.
