Meriden Branch Report February 2025

Last month the main focus was on the branch AGM. As previously reported 3 committee members were standing down after giving sterling service over many years. The question was would we get members to step forward and fill the important roles about to become vacant?

Over 30 members attended the event held, as usual, in the function room of our HQ. Before the meeting was formally opened a free raffle gave one lucky member, Tom Laurence, two passes to tour the Hinckley Triumph factory. They had been passed to us by an employee of a nearby company via Steve, the manager of H.O.E.S.C.

Once the committee members reports were delivered, they didn’t have any surprises, we moved on to the main event of the evening. The chairman’s position was filled by Julian Page, a long time member whose employment situation now enables him to spend more time with the branch. The webmasters position was not decided at the time of writing but Julian expressed an interest as did John Ison, who is also our communications officer. After being shown what the role entailed a decision would be made.

The membership issues are now being looked after by George Teal. The other, non committee role, of organising our attendance at the N.E.C. Classic Vehicle Show, is in the hands of Ian Mountford. In all cases the outgoing post holders are advising the incoming ones to ensure a smooth takeover.

We have no new members this month.
