Meriden Branch Report July 2017

Hello members.

Another busy month for the branch.

We kicked off on the 1st with the Triumph day at Jack’s Hill café where the branch stand was in attendance.  There was a steady flow of bikes of every description and variation.  It proved to be an interesting day out so thanks very much to Northants branch who organized the event.

The following weekend, 8th & 9th saw us at the Mallory Park Bike Bonanza.  The stand was manned by members from both Leicester and Derby branches as well as our own members.  The spirit of inter branch co-operation lives!

Monday and Tuesday 17th – 18th saw a branch trip to the Big Pit museum in Wales.  10 members went along in two groups a 6 and a 4.  The museum was originally a working pit which was preserved as it was on its last working day.  It is now staffed by volunteers who conduct underground tours.  This place is well worth a visit.

On Sunday 23rd we once again displayed at Founders day rally.  We had 9 bikes on display, 6 Meriden’s.  It was a busy but enjoyable day.

I have a backlog of new members to welcome so I shall fit in as many as possible and they are as follows:  Jason Hickman, Stephen Spencer, Robert Castledine, Andrew Davies, Brian Knight, Rosie Platts, Keith Julian, Garry Morgan, Dave Skethley, J jones, Nigel Jones, Nigel Jones, David Owen, Paul Jordan and Kim Sharpe.

That’s it.  Ride safe.  Regards, Alistair.
