Meriden Branch Report November 2015

Apologies for the lack of a Report last Month - here it is...

On 20th September, British and Classic and Any Bike day - Wardington, Nr. Banbury.

Organised by Simon and friends, Simon led sixteen bikes, twelve Triumphs, via a very scenic route including the Burton Dassett Hills, and "very single" single track lanes for this ride in. On arrival at The Hare And Hounds Public House, we were met by lots more bikers for this charity event, the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance. Pride of place on the pub car park was reserved for 'Triumphs Only' byJames, Simon's son, nice one. Monies raised on the day totalled £700 for the Air Ambulance, via donations and a raffle. A band entertained us all in the courtyard at the rear of the pub.

Thanks to Simon, James and friends, the landlord and staff of the pub for organising this charity event. We are all looking forward to next year's meet.

11th October, Jim Fellows Memorial Run. Invited along by the Midlands Section of the VMCC, about 15 Triumphs helped make up a total of nearly forty bikes. The run itself was very eventful, with bikes going off in various little groups.

With a road closure due to some cycle race along the route, riders had to make spur of the moment detours. Some going North, some South, others East or West, great fun, organised chaos at its

best. Eventually everyone arrived at the destination, Bidford-on-Avon Glider Club for refreshments.

Thanks to Bob Badland and the Vintage Club for inviting us along to this very eventful memorial run,

Keith Snell
