Meriden Branch Report October 2021

The major event in November that we were involved in was the NEC Classic Car and Motorcycle Show. Once again members have provided their ‘pride and joys’ for our display area – plus my ‘Tina’! Thanks to those who participated and helped man the area.

A few of went, individually, to the open weekend at the National Motorcycle Museum, just down the road. One or two of us went on bikes, in monsoon-like conditions!!

In October, Martin Wake reported on this event:

“I went to Draycott In The Clay, Steam Rally, in honour of the late John Stonard. He used to lead the ride there twice a year. There was a good collection of steam powered vehicles on display, also a good collection of classic cars, but there were only 3 bikes My triumph Trident, a pre unit Triumph 110 and a special Raleigh moped”.

Our annual Christmas meal is once again taking place after not being possible last year. It will, as usual, be held at the Toby Carvery, on the A45 at Stonebridge, CV7 7HL. This evening event is always well attended and enjoyable. Booking are still being taken. Please contact Bob Smith. whose Contact details are on our website.

The Heart of England Social Club is as busy as ever on a Monday evening with many branch members enjoying a drink and a natter. Please come and join us for a friendly reception.

We welcome one new member this month: Peter Kelly.
