Meriden Branch Report September 2020

We were just starting to get back into attending our regular monday evening gatherings. We were getting a couple of dozen bikes there every week, then the restrictions. Never mind. We did manage a few runs in the month:

Here is a report from run ‘maestro’ Keith about a run he led in early September: “Leaving the Touch down cafe at Wellesbourne Aerodrome our run headed for Toddington Railway Station on the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Vintage Railway Line. We skirted Stratford-Upon-Avon, then through Broadway via B roads.

After refreshments and a photo shoot it was off to Morton-in-Marsh via the ‘intimidating’ Fish Hill then past Broadway Tower.

After parking in the main Street for more photos and refreshments, we headed for home. A beautiful sunny day saw a fantastic 27 bikes turn out for this run, some new faces as well. Thanks for your support, the best attendance for some time. Thanks also to Dave Homan for volunteering to be ‘tail gunner’.”                Keith, Sept. 2020.

We can not plan much at the moment but keep an eye on social media for any news we may have.

I will have, hopefully, completed my epic Coventry-John O’Groats - Lands End-Coventry ride by the time you read this. So look out for the article to follow.

A few of our members are getting well into the Landmark Challenge so maybe on the leader board next year when it finishes.

This month we welcome new members David Armstrong and David Sketchley.
