Meriden Branch Report January 2019

By the time you read this some of us will have attended the funeral of our friend and member Pete Smith. Apart from keeping his bikes in order he constructed a sidecar outfit to carry his disabled brothers' wheelchair. He was a keen fundraiser and dressed as Father Christmas to deliver presents to local children each year using the outfit dressed to look like Santa's sleigh. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him, especially Christine and the family.

Not much else has happened during January that I have heard about. The Tuesday breakfast meet at Wellesbourne Airfield cafe and Wednesdays at Hoar Park have been visited by the regulars who now have time during the day. If you have never been, give them a try.

On the 27th the Thai meal was attended by 23 members. Sounds like all enjoyed it, I'm sorry I couldn't be there. Many thanks to Bob and Julie for organising it.

We have our AGM at 8:30pm on 25th February, about a week away now. We need as many of you as possible to attend so that we get a better representation of our members thoughts and ideas to take us forward into the future. Maybe the next report will be presented by a new scribe.

We would like to welcome new members Adrian Smith, Karl Bolger, Barry Sidwell, Colin Summerton and Alex Jefferson (no.2!) to the branch and hope to see you all soon.

Ian
