Meriden Branch Report July 2019

We’ve been busy since the last report.  Triumph day at Jacks Hill Cafe. Our stand was well supported by branch members and their bikes. The sun shone and the front car park was full of interesting machines.

Several members attended The Festival of 1000 Bikes at Mallory Park each day with 4 venturing out on to the track. A good event as usual.

Founders Day is a major classic bike event held annually at Stanford Hall, Leicestershire. Our branch stand displayed about a dozen bikes. Lots of interest was shown by a constant stream of visitors. We also displayed our cutaway 1968 Bonneville engine which proved a talking point.

Northants. Branch held an open evening which was attended by members Steve Malin and Geoff Skinner.

Unofficial regular events each attended by several members include Hoar Park every Wednesday morning, Wellesbourne Airfield cafe every Tuesday morning (till end of September?) and Kineton Classic cars and bikes evening on 1st Thursday evening each month till October.

Upcoming branch events after the August publication date are few apart from our popular regular Monday evening meets at the Heart of England Club, Meriden. One off events worth attending are the annual “motor show” in Atherstone on Sunday 8 September and Hinckley “classic motor show” on Sunday 15 September. Both events are extremely popular with several hundred, mainly classic, cars, bikes and scooters attending each.

This month we welcomed new members Rob. Abbott and Sonnie Barr.
