Meriden Branch Report May 2022

Since the last report we have participated in 3 main events.

6 members rode over to the West Wales Branch for a weekend rally. They had an enjoyable few days at the Aberaeron RFC ground.

The Rugby Bikefest is always a good event. This year 14 riders met at the Long Itch Diner for refreshments before riding in to park up just ahead of the main (very noisy) ride in. Some nice machines took part. The good weather helped to make the event an enjoyable one. (see photograph)

The third event was a ride to the annual ‘Wings and Wheels’ charity day at Bidford on Avon Glider Club. Members made their own way there on this occasion, or joined the VMCC  ride in from Meriden. It seems to have been a worthwhile trip with lots of  cars and planes to admire in good weather.

Upcoming events include the Festival of 1000 bikes, at Mallory Park and Founders Day held annually at Stanford Hall. All the details for these events and others on the calendar can be found on the website and by emails from John Ison who is doing a fine job of communicating branch activities and news.

Our regular Monday evening gatherings at Heart of England Social Club are always well attended and in Summer the car park is generally full of bikes.

This month we welcome new members Brent Caton, Andrew Longfield and John Hicks. We hope to see you at our events.
