Branch Report - July 2025

July was fairly quiet in terms of events. The BMF weekend at Mallory Park seems to have been a disappointment.  A few of our Meriden Branch members attended but were not impressed with its organisation.

The other event we attended was Founders Day at Stanford Hall. This annual one day extravaganza, well organised by The Taverners is always one we look forward to.  Lots of club stands an events arena, huge auto jumble, food, drink etc. Despite the showery weather we still got several bikes on display and enjoyed the proceedings.  The one incident, which could have been a lot worse, occurred on the way home. John Nelson, a very experienced rider, on his modern T120, failed to negotiate a relatively open left hand bend and ended up in a shallow ditch on the opposite side of the road.  Luckily he escaped with minor bruising and a bent indicator. Luckily Dave Homan was following and helped lift the bike off John's trapped leg.

Some upcoming events for your calendar: all on a Monday at our HQ. 8th September a video provided by Bob Wisdom  "Triumph tester run". 13th October a talk by 'Mental Health Bikers'. November 10th a talk by 'Bike Safe'.

Also of interest: National Motorcycle Museum Live 25/26 October and the Classic Motor Show at the N.E.C. We will have a stand there and require bikes to populate it. If interested please contact Ian Mountford (07952 093470), or one of the committee.
