Branch Report - June 2026
At Coventry Motofest we met up with Mick Barratt who runs the 'Coventry' non territorial section for Triumphs built pre-war. We were allocated a section of Priory Street, where the factory was until the Luftwaffe 'redesigned' it. A dozen bikes both pre war and post war braved the showery and windy conditions, just on the Saturday. The following day was The Banbury Run at which a couple of our members were entered. Julian and I volunteered as marshals, him on a check point, and me on my modern bike patrolling a section of the route assisting those entrants in need. Our branch gazebo was, this year, assigned a plot at the far end of the auto jumble. Unfortunately well away from 'the action'.
The monthly Triumph Factory bike night was, as usual, well attended. I attended the Daventry Bike Festival, but never recognising any other Meriden Branch members. We had hoped to have a presence at the re started Mallory Park 1000 Bikes Revival, albeit run commercially. However for various reasons we decided not to attend.
The first weekend of August is our annual branch 'Bring-it-Home' rally. A really good event which deserves your presence. See the flyer in this journal. We also need bikes for N.E.C. show in November
George, as ever, has enrolled new members: Kevin Wood, Tsela Belint, Lisa Morris, Alfred Round, Martin Sleigh. We welcome you all and hope to see at one of our meetings.
